Lidl has been keen to bring a new store to Seaham for some time. The former Katmex factory at George Street Industrial Estate is a vacant brownfield site and perfect for a modern Lidl foodstore.

Around 40 jobs for local people, including full and part-time roles. Lidl GB pay rates for hourly-paid colleagues is a minimum of £13.45 per hour, increasing to £14.45 with length of service

Lidl has an ongoing commitment to enhance the environmental sustainability of its stores. A range of technology is used in store to minimise energy use. Rapid electric vehicle charging bays are provided in the car park and solar panels on the roof would provide up to 25% of the store’s energy requirements
